Marijuana State Status: Your Guide to How to When & How to Apply for a Marijuana License

Arizona Marijuana Business Licenses – The state of Arizona legalized medical cannabis in 2010, through a Ballot, Proposition 203, which provided a legal way for qualifying patients in the state to access and utilize medical cannabis as a form of treatment for their ailment. Access to medical cannabis is through state licensed businesses can grow, manufacture and sell medical cannabis. In addition to the Medical Marijuana program, Arizona could legalize Adult Use November 2020.

California Marijuana Business Licenses – The state of California legalized both adult-use and medical cannabis. Persons 21 years and older may purchase and possess cannabis, while registered patients have access to medical cannabis. Access to cannabis is through state licensed businesses that can grow, manufacture and sell cannabis.

California is currently accepting Marijuana Business Licenses applications in many municipalities. To obtain a California Marijuana business licensees applicants will have to be approved by both the City and State. Sara and her team have worked with many clients on securing both State and Local Municipality marijuana licenses for clients in California.  Sara has a track record of success with clients in California.

Georgia Marijuana Business Licenses – The state of Georgia legalized low-THC, high-CBD medical cannabis in 2015, through a Legislative bill, House Bill 1, but failed to provide a dispensing system for access. In 2019, Georgia passed House Bill 324, which provided a legal way for qualifying patients in the state to access and utilize low-THC, high-CBD medical cannabis as a form of treatment for their ailment. Access to medical cannabis is through state licensed businesses that can grow, manufacture and sell low-THC, high-CBD medical cannabis.

Georgia is currently accepting Marijuana Business Licenses applications. Sara and her team are actively working with clients on securing Georgia marijuana licenses.

Maine Marijuana Business Licenses – The state of Maine legalized both adult-use and medical cannabis. Access to cannabis is through state licensed businesses that are allowed to grow, manufacture and sell cannabis. Maine legalized medical cannabis in 1999, through a ballot, Question 2, which provided a legal way for qualifying patients in the state to access and utilize medical cannabis as a form of treatment for their ailment. In 2016, Maine legalized medical cannabis through a ballot, Question 1, which provided a legal system and access to cannabis for persons 21 years and older. And, in 2019 – Maine begins accepting applications for adult-use cannabis businesses.

Massachusetts Marijuana Business Licenses – The state of Massachusetts legalized both adult-use and medical cannabis. Access to cannabis is through state licensed businesses that are allowed to grow, manufacture and sell cannabis.

Massachusetts legalized medical cannabis in 2012, through a ballot, Question 3, which provided a legal way for qualifying patients in the state to access and utilize medical cannabis as a form of treatment for their ailment. In 2016, Massachusetts legalized medical cannabis through a ballot, Question 4, which provided a legal system and access to cannabis for persons 21 years and older.

Michigan Marijuana Business Licenses – The state of Michigan legalized both adult-use and medical cannabis. Access to cannabis is through state licensed businesses that can grow, manufacture and sell cannabis.

Michigan legalized medical cannabis in 2008, through a ballot, Proposal 1, which provided a legal way for qualifying patients in the state to access and utilize medical cannabis as a form of treatment for their ailment. In 2018, Michigan legalized medical cannabis through a ballot, Initiated Law 1 of 2018, which provided a legal system and access to cannabis for persons 21 years and older.

Michigan is currently accepting Marijuana Business Licenses applications. To obtain a Michigan Marijuana business licensees applicants will have to be approved by both the City and State. New Mexico Marijuana Business Licenses – The state of New Mexico legalized medical cannabis in 2007, through a Legislative bill, Senate Bill 523, which provided a legal way for qualifying patients in the state to access and utilize medical cannabis as a form of treatment for their ailment. Access to medical cannabis is through state licensed businesses that can grow, manufacture and sell medical cannabis.

Oklahoma Marijuana Business Licenses – The state of Oklahoma legalized medical cannabis in 2018, through a Ballot Measure, Oklahoma State Question 788, which provided a legal way for qualifying patients in the state to access and utilize medical cannabis as a form of treatment for their ailment. Access to medical cannabis is through state licensed businesses that can grow, manufacture and sell medical cannabis.
