New Jersey Cannabis Licensing

New Jersey legalized adult-use cannabis in November, 2020. New Jersey is currently accepting applications for cannabis business licenses. 

Types of Applications

Conditional License Application:

• Application requirements for a conditional license is about 30% of a standard annual application, and does not require an applicant to secure property, gain local government support, develop Standard Operating Procedures, at this phase of the application.

Conditional Conversion Application:

• Applicants granted approval for a conditional license will have 120 days to submit a Conditional Conversion Application to complete the licensing process, this includes securing propose site, gain local municipal approval and developing the full standard application.

Annual Application:

• A full standard application submitted to the Application Needs include:

• Qualifications to apply for annual application (not including qualifications for priority businesses):
  • At least 1 owner has resided in NJ for at least 2 years
