New Jersey Social Equity Licensing

New Jersey will begin accepting applications for specific license types for social equity applicants beginning September 27, 2023. The process will be open to social equity applicants for a year.

Applications in New Jersey have been accepted on a continuous rolling basis and are reviewed, scored (this is really pass/fail), and approved in a certain order. Social Equity businesses have first priority in the review process.

1. Social Equity Businesses, ordered by first in time, that:
   1. Have submitted a conditional license application for a microbusiness;
      1. So for example, qualifications for an applicant for this category include:
         1. Social Equity: 51% owned by people who have lived in economically disadvantaged areas of the state or who have past convictions for cannabis offenses;
