Sara Gullickson – U.S medical cannabis consultant: starting the new year off strong

The year has gotten off to a busy start and I am loving every minute of it. I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel for both personal and business situations all month. I kicked off the New Year in Puerto Rico. The rainforest, yoga, hiking, paddle boarding, the culture, the beautiful city of San Juan and the quiet beaches at Grand Melia were just what I needed to find my zen after the busy holiday season. When I returned back to Arizona I was refreshed and ready to take on 2015.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to be a part of the Women Grow Phoenix Chapter as their Co- Chair. We hosted our 2nd event on January 8th at The Clarendon Hotel in Phoenix.Just over 45 guests gathered to mix and mingle and to hear Kathy Inman from Mom Force AZ speak. Kathy touched on the importance of becoming an advocate for Marijuana in Arizona. Kathy also shared her journey with us and described how she got involved and some of her major accomplishments such as meeting Sheriff Joe Arpaio. For those of you that do not know of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, read more here to understand the irony of Kathy meeting with him. Last weekend, in anticipation of the announcement of the Illinois cultivation and dispensary permit winners, I flew into Chicago on Friday the 9th of January only to be disappointed the winners were not announced. I was ingrained in the Illinois process for the last 18 months.

Since August of 2013, our team has dedicated hundreds of hours to the process as well as the DispensaryPermits.com and MariMedAdvisors.com clients, in addition to advocating for the patients. While I understand the grading process for the dispensary and cultivation applications take time, it’s hard for me to understand why Governor Quinn didn’t handle the program prior to leaving office. I am hoping we get answers soon so we know what to expect for the Illinois Medical Cannabis Pilot Program in 2015. Millions of dollars have been invested into the program and thousands of patients are anticipating access to cannabis for their qualifying medical conditions.

Currently, I am in route to NYC for the weekend then off to Boston to visit the MariMedAdvisors.com team. We will be discussing current projects. We have so many great things going on right now all over the United States. If you are in the Boston area and you are interested in meeting feel free to email me at Sara@DispensaryPermits.com. On a personal note, if anyone has yoga studio recommendations in Boston, please send them my way. I have yet to find my yogi home in Boston. Stay tuned for updates on my blog. The DispensaryPermits.com blog and on our social media accounts. Make it a great Friday!

Cheers,

Sara
